Taskers set flat hourly rates, and the platform adds a service fee on top. Good for IKEA jobs and quick same-day help. Less useful if you need a vetted professional for a serious renovation.
Yoopies Childcare & cleaning • FR, ES, BE, NL, DE, UK
Yoopies started in France and is strong in childcare, cleaning, and home help. It covers France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK. The platform is heavily focused on recurring domestic help (weekly cleaning, after-school childcare) rather than one-off repairs or renovations.
Not a great fit if you need a plumber at 7pm on a Friday. But if you are an expat family looking for a regular cleaner or babysitter in Paris or Brussels, Yoopies is worth a look.
Bark Service marketplace • UK, IE, ES, AU, US, ZA
Bark works differently from the other platforms. Instead of browsing taskers, you describe your job and Bark sends it to local professionals who then contact you with quotes. It covers the UK, Ireland, Spain, Australia, the US, and South Africa.
The downside: you do not control who contacts you. Professionals pay Bark for leads, which means they are incentivised to reach out fast rather than carefully. Good for getting multiple quotes quickly. Less good if you want to browse reviews and pick someone yourself.
So which one should you actually use?
If you are in Australia or the UK, Airtasker works fine. But for the rest of Europe, the decision comes down to three things:
- Language. Do you speak the local language? If not, you need a platform that translates for you. Manofix is the only one that supports 27 languages natively. TaskRabbit and Bark are English-only in most markets.
